社会责任信息披露的“掩饰效应”和上市公司崩盘风险——来自中国股票市场的DID-PSM分析

摘要：

坏消息的隐匿和积累会引致崩盘风险。社会责任信息披露如何影响个股股价崩盘风险?中国监管当局强制要求部分上市公司披露社会责任信息,试图减少信息不对称,理论上有助于降低崩盘风险。我们采用双重差分(倾向评分)匹配DID-PSM方法,分析发现强制披露政策的实施显著增大了崩盘风险。基于这一金融异象,本文提出了社会责任的掩饰效应假说。如果经理人代理成本足够大,社会责任信息披露可以被企业用来掩盖粉饰企业运营中的问题,这样,经理人道德风险和社会责任信息披露存在正相关关系。我们进而发现,如果股东和经理人利益相对一致,经理人监督机制相对健全,抑或财务信息足够透明,那么社会责任信息披露和股价崩盘风险的正向关系不再显著。
