Spatial distribution of SO2, NO(x) and CO2 emissions from fuel combustion and industrial activities in Asia has been obtained with 1-degrees x 1-degrees latitude-longitude resolution for 1975, 1980 and 1987 covering the geographical area of 60-degrees-E-150-degrees E and 10-degrees-S-55-degrees N. Locations of major power plants, iron and steel industry, chemical and petrochemical industry, oil refineries, airports and harbors have been identified for improving accuracy of the allocation of emissions to each grid. Intensive emissions are observed in the Pacific rim region of Asia including Japan, North and South Korea, the coastal area of China and Taiwan where several grids have annual emissions exceeding 100 GgS, 50 GgN and 10 TgC for SO2, NO(x) and CO2, respectively. High emission of SO2 is also observed for several grids in the inland area of China.
