摘要
The study of occupational stereotypes contributes to our theoretical understanding of the psychological dynamics of stereotyping and exposes profound practical dilemmas that face a legal system theoretically mandated to guarantee equal employment opportunities. In this article, we review the psychological and legal literature dealing with occupational stereotypes, and we present the results of an empirical study showing that individuals respond differently to purportedly neutral job descriptions depending on sex and ethnicity. © 1991 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
