摘要
Chemical characterization of hemoglobin Tacoma demonstrates a single substitution of a seryl residue for the arginyl residue number 30 of the α chain. Because this appears to be the only substitution in the abnormal hemoglobin, the structural formula is α2β230Ser. This substitution occurs in a region of residues 28-42 which is one of the relatively invariant parts of the β chain of normal animal hemoglobins. © 1969, American Chemical Society.
