POSTMITOTIC NUCLEAR REORGANIZATION EVENTS ANALYZED IN LIVING CELLS

摘要
The postmitotic reorganization of daughter nuclei is a complex process which requires nuclear components provided by the mother cell. One approach to gain more insight into this assembly process is the experimental manipulation of mitotic cells by microinjecting antibodies to various nuclear components. The present article summarizes the major results obtained by using this approach and provides evidence that the process of postmitotic nuclear reformation can be experimentally subdivided into defined steps. In particular, the role of the newly formed nuclear envelope and pore complexes in establishing the nucleocytoplasmic compartmentalization at telophase is discussed.
