摘要：

The main characteristics of the socioeconomic development of Volga basin are given. Data on the use of water resources and the development of economic branches in the basin in 1980-2002 are analyzed. The dynamics of variations in the efficiency indices of water use in industry, agriculture and municipal economy in the upper, middle, and lower Volga. © MAIK "Nauka/Interperiodica" 2005.
