摘要：

The paper introduces "situation dependency" as a new concept to adapt mobile commerce (m-commerce) applications according to the spatial, personal, and temporal context in which the user accesses a service. The mobile network operator is presented as a so-called situation provider to take over the necessary tasks and to provide service providers with a situation description of their mobile users. This paper provides a closer definition of situation dependency and structures the tasks that are necessary to obtain a situation description. It discusses organizational and technical aspects as well as security issues of the situation dependency concept and provides a scenario for its implementation. (C) 2002 Elsevier Inc.
