Does governance matter? Keiretsu alliances and asset specificity as sources of Japanese competitive advantage

摘要
This paper examines exchange governance issues in the U.S. and Japanese automobile industries using a transactions cost framework. Empirical results are partially consistent with transactions cost theory, but may also require a rethinking of transactions cost logic under conditions of high uncertainty.
