摘要
The factors affecting structural performance of thin-walled linings, such as loading, host pipe characterisation and installation technique are first summarised, whence ability of the lining to span small gaps and voids in the existing pipe are identified as major design criteria. The performance of linings installed using the two most popular pipe grade polyethylenes (PE80 and PE100) is then investigated under both short-term and creep loading conditions. This is achieved using a combination of laboratory testing techniques together with two- and three-dimensional finite element modelling, The possible effects of longitudinal notches induced by the installation processes on spanning capacity are included in the investigation. Explicit design recommendations for the criteria considered are obtained. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
