摘要：

This paper aims to investigate the macroeconomic impact of DFI in China in the past two decades, with concentration on the effects of DFI on real macroeconomic variables. It consists of seven sections. Section 2 presents a brief discussion of the development and characteristics of DFI in China. Sections 3 and 4 analyse the impact of DFI on economic growth and domestic capital formation respectively. A theoretical discussion and empirical examination will be presented. Section 5 probes the employment creation effect of DFI in China. Section 6 explores the impact of DFI on China's exports and trade bqalance. Finally, conclusions and policy implications will be drawn in Section 7.
