摘要
Small enterprises are a growth engine in post-socialist economies. We argue that privatization can either enhance or deter small enterprise formation via its impact on the local business environment. We then show that in Russia small-scale privatization deterred small enterprise formation, while large-scale privatization enhanced it. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
