Focus From the Trenches: A Longitudinal Study of CSFs for Software Process Improvement, by Brian Fitzgerald and Tom O'Kane, pp. 37-45. Studying a software process improvement effort over time reveals the specific factors associated with its success. This case study shows how Motorola's Cellular Infrastructure Group progressed to CMM level 4, examines the critical success factors associated with that achievement, and discusses what is needed to optimize the group's software development process.
