"Value neutrality" is the expression of the ethical requirement by Weber for the intellectuals who are in the modern world of value emptiness and disorientation,which shows the effort that he tried to delineate the rightful boundary of legitimate discursive right.The face meaning of "value neutrality" is not to make value judgment,but the deep implication of value neutrality is against one who makes use of his advantages in position,social status,and power,etc.,to exert or impose his value perspectives on another."Value neutrality" aims to maintain the purity of academic research on the one hand;and on the other hand,to maintain the state of free competitions or even conflicts of value perspectives in the sphere of value.Value neutrality does not deny any "value discussion" under value relevance,and as an organic part of scholarly studies of value neutrality,value discussion,while promoting "value communication",also demonstrates the possibility of rational critique to value position under certain premises.Via this,Weber's thoughts surrounding "value neutrality",in a shadowy but certain way,lead to the meaning of "Communicative Rationality" of Habermas.
