摘要：

元数据是组织数字信息的基本工具,它是用来描述网上信息资源,加强对网络资源搜集、开发、组织与利用的数据集合。2007年,国外研究人员对元数据的研究进展主要包括:新类型元数据的介绍性研究、元数据维护的研究、元数据管理方法的研究、各种格式元数据之间互操作研究、元数据在不同领域的应用情况研究这5个方面。
