“用钱投票”:公众环境关注度对不同产业资产价格的影响

摘要：

雾霾是近年来中国最大的环境治理难题之一。本文考察了用百度搜索指数测度的公众环境(雾霾)关注度对个体投资者行为及特定股指收益率的影响。研究发现,公众对雾霾的关注度越高,空气污染治理类股票收益越高,且影响波及环保类股票;同时,空气污染治理类股票相对高耗能产业股票的超额收益率较之环保产业股更高。研究进一步发现:两会代表热议空气污染治理问题时期,公众对雾霾关注度的提高导致环保股票收益率显著上升,而石油、煤炭等产业股票相对收益率下降。本文的研究揭示:大范围持续发生的雾霾通过吸引公众关注而显著地影响个体投资行为,从而对产业资本进行了再配置。政府有效的信息披露有助于推动公众与市场良性互动,并促进环境治理融资。
