文化资本、文化多样性与社会网络资本

摘要
There are two main opinions about the relationship between culture capital and social network capital in Western literature.One argues that high\|status culture is useful in gaining higher network resource.Another thinks the most widely useful culture resource is cultural variety.This article,based on interviews of about 400 families in Shanghai,Tianjin,Wuhan,and Shenzhen,tries to probe into and analyses the mechanism of influence between culture capital and social network capital in mainland China.Results suggest that:(1) Because of different network character,culture variety is almost useless in accelerate the accumulation of social network capital.But high\|status cultural capital does.(2) The most powerful route for accumulating social network capital is an indirect way through network ceiling and network range.That means,to heap up higher social network capital,one should not only contact with some higher\|rank persons,but also take advantage of the potential opportunity for making more and all kinds of friends.
