With the popularization of the computer information network and the evolution of informetrics,webmetircs is booming rapidly as a new branch.After introducing the genesis and definition of webmetrics,this article emphatically discusses the objects,methods and tools of the webmetrics study and points out 5 main applications of webmetrics.
