摘要：

The definition and connotation of Information Architecture(IA)is briefly described.Its impact on the evolution of information service is discussed from the theoretical and practical aspects.It's believed that IA could be used to stimulate the requirement for the development of new technologies and new applications,to serve as a starting point for exploring the new direction of knowledge management and knowledge based information service,to provide a framework for improving the quality and structure of LIS professionals,and to serve as a model for remolding information science.
