摘要：

宗旨各异、数目繁多的私人基金会通过多种方式支持科学事业是美国社会独有的现象 ,对美国的科学事业产生积极作用和深远影响。本文试图考察美国私人基金会产生的历史文化背景与发展现状 ,分析阐述其支持科学事业的主要特点 ,进而就相关问题对我国现行科学政策提出一些讨论意见
