摘要
4 female undergraduates decided if any 1 of a set of memorized targets (t) was present in a set of briefly presented visual items (d), then made a binary response based on this decision. Latency of this response was sensitive to increases both in t and d. It was hypothesized that an underlying serial-serial search process was involved, with each target item being compared to each display item in a 1:1 fashion. Extended practice made this comparison process more rapid, but did not alter its serial-serial nature. (15 ref.)
