RIBONUCLEIC ACID METABOLISM OF A SINGLE NEURON - CORRELATION WITH ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY

摘要
The giant neuron of the abdominal ganglion of Aplysia californica incorporates tritiated undine into RNA at a constant rate at rest. This rate increases under synoptic stimulation, the increase being directly proportional to the number of action potentials produced by the neuron. Multineuronal samples from stimulated ganglia failed to show an increase in incorporation.
