摘要
Assesses what has been learned from theory about the determinants of growth, looking particularly at the lessons of the real experience of developing countries. A second intention is to examine how far the state can, or should, influence the rate of growth. The author argues that the emphasis in the literature on the long run and on technical progress has not led to a real understanding of the growth process, and that medium-run questions of economic organisation and infrastructure have been neglected. -M.Amos
