OSCILLATOR STRENGTHS AND ROTATIONAL STRENGHTS IN HARTREE-FOCK THEORY

摘要
The various expressions for oscillator strengths and rotational strengths are examined within the context of Hartree-Fock theory. They are shown to be inequivalent. The f-sum rule, rotational sum rule, and the origin dependence of rotational strengths are also examined. It is shown that the time-dependent Hartree-Fock theory removes the difficulties.
