INDUCTION OF PLASMINOGEN ACTIVATOR BY ESTROGEN IN A HUMAN-BREAST CANCER CELL-LINE (MCF-7)

摘要
The human breast cancer cell line (MCF-7) produces a plasminogen activator. Under conditions where the growth of these cells is neither dependent on nor stimulated by estradiol as little as 10-10M estradiol stimulates plasminogen activator production. This stimulation is prevented by actinomycin D or cycloheximide, indicating that it probably requires new RNA and protein synthesis. Stimulation is also inhibited by the antiestrogen tamoxifen but this inhibition can be overcome by higher levels of estradiol. © 1979.
